Reston Youth Association (RYA) is proud to be part of the Northern Virginia Youth Football League (NVYFL), a co-ed full-tackle league that governs youth football clubs across Northern Virginia. Competing under the Reston Seahawks name, we compete against other NVYFL teams in the area. While we primarily serve families in the Reston and Herndon areas, players from outside this zone are welcome to join our program.

Players, ages 7-15 are assigned to teams based on an age/weight matrix established by NVYFL, with official weigh-ins helping to form balanced teams. It's important to review the 'NVYFL Age/Weight Matrix' under the tackle football dropdown on our site for detailed information.

The NVYFL offers different levels of competition based on a player’s ability, age, and weight, organized into the following conferences:

• Anklebiter: Instructional group for the youngest players, with special competition rules.
• American: Designed for the most experienced and skilled players.
• Central: A mid-level conference for teams with a mix of experience.
• National: A conference for teams with players of limited experience and skill.

This structure ensures that players of all levels can compete and grow in a supportive environment.
